CIEC Foundation (International Center for Contemporary Printmaking)
Founded in 1997 by the artist Jesús Núñez, it has its headquarters in a modernist 1923 house made by the architect Gonzalo Villar, situated in the heart of the historic center of Betanzos, which is part of the English Way, and known as Casa Núnez. Its interior exhibits an important collection of graphic art from established artists (Picasso, Miró, Saura, Tàpies, Dalí, Seoane, Jesús Núñez…) and up-and-coming creators. The whole ground floor serves as a workshop space where artists from all over the world attend a Master Degree in Graphic Work and summer courses, making it come alive as a hub of creativity and a meeting point. Its visit is always surprising, offering the chance to admire the artists in action; which allows us to witness the birth and creation of works of art.
Jesús Núñez (Betanzos, A Coruña, 1927): Painter, engraver, sculptor; textile, jewelry and interior designer, as well as a long list of etceteras that make him into a relevant figure of the international art scene.
