Museo Xente no Camiño
Because it shows the face of all social groups in medieval Galicia, above all, in any way possible. But where and are conscious of the use of the word< em> the Camino way takes us directly to the idea of the Camino de Santiago, that it also comes from, for the simple reason that these network of land and sea made Galicia into a center of Europe and as it was a geographical finisterre.
In fact, if we see together the image of the Gallegos that results in these project, we realize that its considerably similar, in general ways, to many European countries, and these is precisely because the Camino de Santiago favorites the exchange and the integration. Galicia received many influences from the rest of Europa and the rest of Europa some others from Galicia, in a way that none of the entities could be conceived, then nor today, separately.
Who ever enters the museum Museo Xente no Camiño (opened from September-October 2014 and grow-minded) will see that Galicia had kings, queens, princesses … had people of artisan workers, peasants, bishops, cures, pilgrims, musicians, jesters, saints and sinners… and all with a comparable image of the peoples of Europe more meanings of the time.
Will see how some of our knight’s armors couldn’t be how they are without the relation with England, France, Germany or Italy. You will see the image of the peasants for medieval calendars, of a roman origin, since we retain all full of Galicia in the capital of Santa María do Azougue in Betanzos (and some incomplete ones). And there where we don’t conserve images (of all the work) they will be able to be seen, in the future, going by European blueprints, something that is preferably coherent.
Anyhow, the museum Museo Xente no Camiño its unique in Galicia for its content and who ever wants to know how we used to be the Galician people of the middle ages will do good in visiting it. Here, in presedo, you will be able to complement your visit with the services of a meson of products of our land, and an amazing sacred forest in formation since the end of 2014. With the help of time, we hope to have in the forest a camping (the space for it is already existent and it would allow many different out door activities). If that wasn’t enough, you can have a walk on the ways to Santiago amongst forests and peasant’s houses … anyhow, live and breathe, feel the magic and the culture of the old Galicia not far away from Betanzos and from A Coruña.
