Overseas Working Holidays
Community Archaeology in beautiful Galicia – Working holidays in August 2015
Join our community archaeology project and make the most of your skills in this idyllic landscape! You’ll be part of a team carrying out work at A Cabeciña, an impressive Iron Age hill fort surrounded by Bronze Age rock art engravings and overlooking the ocean. Tasks will typically include archaeology excavations in the fort and 3D recording of the unique rock art.
During the holiday there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know Galicia in depth: its people, landscape, gastronomy, fiestas and history.
Accommodation: Full board at a local hostel in shared rooms. All bed linen and towels provided. The hostel provides home cooked meals using fruit and vegetables from their own garden and other locally sourced produce. Private en-suite rooms are available for an additional charge (10€ more per night and person).
Dates: 02/08/2015 – 15/08/2015 & 16/08/2015 – 29/08/2015 Price: € 150 (We are currently negotiating with local authorities to bring down the price ).
Priority: Students in related fields such as History or Archaeology. IT and photography skills for the 3D recording will be taken into account. We will also prioritize people available for both shifts (whole month).
